Our Driving Tour on Thursday, April 29, 2010

Beaver's Bend is 7 miles north of Broken Bow on Highway 259 in McCurtain County. It is the southeastern most corner of Oklahoma, next to the Arkansas and Texas state lines.   The State Park is on the Broken Bow Lake.  There are also numerious creeks and rivers and hundreds of hiking trails.
We first drove into Broken Bow to the WalMart Pharmacy to get a different medication, thinking it was the antibiotic making Ken more sick.   Then we begin to discovery the beauties off of 259A.    Our first stop on this tour was at the  over flow dam and the trout fishing reservation.    It was a georgous day.  The water so blue, the trees so many varied shades of  green.    I noticed the pine tree which had more cones on it than any pine tree I have ever seen.  The picture can not do justice to the heavily-laiden branches of both pines and cones.
