Everyone Did Not Make It To The TOP

This section are photos taken by our little Fuji Camera.  We made several stops on the way to the top but then we parked at the top parking lot of Mt Mitchell.   Papa knew he could not hike up and opted to take his photos for this spot.  Sommer, Ava and Carson, headed on up and I endeavored to go with them.   Oh My it was sooooooo cold the further up we went.   When we got to the Balsam Nature Trail, I was so out of breath I told them I thought I would stop.  While resting and reading about the Spruce-Fir Forest, those evergreen red spruce and Fraser fir trees, I realized I was catching my second wind.  Sommer call from the top and I decided to try some more.    Yes, I made it to the top.  I hit the Summit! but only stayed long enough to get some photos to prove that I made it.  It is a beautiful sight and you can see down on the parking lot where Ken is taking his photos.   These are what I took with the Fuji........not too bad.  This spot is 6684 feet, the highest peak east of the Mississippi River.
