Our Evening Meals

Table 400 at 6:30 in the evening was a very special time for us. We had requested to sit with a table of eight. We believe we got the best table next to the captain and beside the large window for viewing our exit from port each evening. We also had wonderful dinner friends with which to share our gourmet five-course meals. This particular scene is the Baked Alaska parade with white napkins flying and much fanfare.
Our head waiter was Ahmet from Egypt and his assistant was Ante from Croatia. They did a wonderful job of making us feel very special. Ahmet had been working the cruise ship for 12 years and this was Ante's first. He celebrated his 20th birthday while we were there. Ken established a bond with Ante because he had been to Ante's home town and knew some people that Ante knew.
The dinning room was beautifully decorated and situated on the 4th and 5th decks.

The couples were all of the same generation and had all been on a Celebrity Cruise before. It is amazing how Celebrity can place compatible dinner guest together .... I love to think God did that for us. We would love to travel with these dear ones again at any time.

Below the photo of us lovebirds you will see Al and Royce Wolfsohn from Connecticut. Al is a doctor and Royce a lawyer. Al is retired and presently teaches at Columbia University, School of Medicine.

Standing on the stairway is Vern and Thea.
We did not meet Vern and Thea until the second evening. They were too exhausted the first evening to make it to dinner. Vern Mueller and Thea Wickers are from North York Ontario Canada. Thea had been married 45 years and Vern was married 47 years. When they lost their mates they met through a singles club and became great friends. Both from Germany, they were not only cruising together but after the cruise, were headed back to their Mother land.
Vern and Thea kept all of us entertained with plenty of laughs. They were a delightful couple. The first evening we met, Thea assured us there was none of that "hankie pankie" going on. Vern immediately questioned "well what about the footsie footsie?"

Fred and Phyllis Goldsmith were also from Canada. They immigrated from Ireland as newlyweds to Alberta, Calgary.
Both were school teachers. Fred presently substitute teaches and we learned that Phyllis belly dances. She described her life as the Princess. Because Fred was too particular so she just let him "do it." After the Cruise, Fred and Phyllis were renting a car and driving North. They were returning to the area where they first met.
We loved sharing our lives with these dear people.
