Naples is the capital of Italy's Campania Region and a major seaport. The city is known for its rich history, art, and culture. Naples was founded by the Ancient Greeks 2,800 years ago. The city has seen a multitude of civilizations come and go. It is located halfway between two volcanic areas, Mount Vesuvius and the Phlegraean Fields. It is rich with churches, convents, palaces and medieval buildings.
We had planned a Panorama Tour in the afternoon. So for the morning we had a healthy breakfast and spent a fun relaxing time at the aqua spa. From the ship, the port and city of Naples looked beautiful on the hills. The hills are covered with domes of churches everywhere and castle walls topped the scene.
Our guide today will be Valorie with a very skilled driver, Necarto. With such beauty from a distance, we were hardly prepared for the filth and chaotic streets of the inner city.
