Tapa Tasting in Palma

May 9, 2009
We did not quiet understand what the Tapa tasting tour of Palma was all about. We ate breakfast on the ship and then headed out for the tour. We thought the tapa tasting was at one place around lunch time. We were wrong. We took a brief tour of Palma and then headed for our first Tapa Bar. It might have been the best one, El Pesquero by the bay. There was a wonderful bread, the best olives, fried baby Sardines, Croquet's, Calamari and potato salad. All of it was wonderful but we were not hungry.

We took another walk about and ended up at the second Tapa Bar. This one had even more food. A Spanish taco which was more like a quiche. Some spicy potatoes with sour cream. More olives, mushrooms and a pastry.

Happily for us, we then had a break. More sightseeing and than an hour or more on our own down town Palma. Palma is a wealthy resort town and the shops were luxury with a rich man's price. Ken took a lot of photos during that time and we did not shop for anything.
The last Tapa place was at a renovated luxury hotel and was what a Tapa should really be ... a tiny snack. It was some sort of pasta and a fried shrimp. We were relieved that it was very small.
