Friends and Food On The Summit

I ate seafood every single day. Was I hoping to keep the calories down? There was a lot of food but we tried to keep it healthy.

And as beautiful as the food was, our
friends were far more beautiful.

Oh, did I mention, there were always sweets morning , noon and night.

NOTE FROM VERN:
Hi, Jean and Ken,
I should have replied earlier but was under the impression that Thea was going to send you a card. She received the pictures and is very happy with them. I too am impressed .The ones of the two of us are great.Thank you from both of us.

Thea finally saw the Blog you put together and she liked it very much. Looking at it and reading the captions makes us feel we were there again. Thea thinks it is wonderful and said that you Jean, did a marvelous job and that you must have put a lot of time and effort into putting it together. I do hope that Ken gave you a little bit of help?

Our next trip will be in March doing South America and the Panama Canal. Thea thought that you were interested. How about it.

Enjoy the rest of the summer. Hope you have better weather than we have.Stay healthy and all the Best.
Thea and Vern

NOTE FROM AL AND ROYCE:
Dear Ken and Jean,

Your pictures are great and we thank you for sending them. We also had a wonderful time with you and we all felt we had a great table. In addition, Jean you widened my horizons in the area of the hearing impaired and you Ken politically and in camera technology. It would be great to travel together again.

Ken, if you are up to it on day two or three after the knee surgery give me a call as I want to give you a few thoughts regarding swifter healing.

Always the best,

Al and Royce Wolfsohn

AND A NOTE FROM PHYLLIS:

Dear Jean and Ken,

I'm so excited to receive your blog. You have done a wonderful job and we will enjoy reading the text and looking at the pictures time after time. Fred is out working in the yard and doesn't know about it yet but he will be as thrilled as I am. I don't even know how to attach photos to an email but, if you send me your address I will send you some prints. Wasn't it a great cruise - I came home exhausted but I look upon it all as a great experience. When we left the ship we took the metro to the main railway station where we rented a car - it was very stressful finding our route out of Barcelona but we did it and made our way along great roads to Llafranc on the Costa Brava where we stayed 6 nights. It was thrilling to be there 51 years later - we felt priveleged and grateful for the experience. We walked, beached ourselves, swam and visited medieval villages (Pals and Begur), as well as the most wonderful Botanical Gardens in Calella, set on the rim of the 'wild coast' which is what Costa Brava means in English. On our return to Barcelona we stayed in a lovely hotel close in and took in lots of sights during our last three days - Gaudi's park and all his architecture and the Ramblas. We made an album of our pictures - it's a lovely way of remembering it all. We feel lucky to have had such nice dinner companions on the Summit and warm sunny weather throughout our holiday. Fred and I just got back from Jasper where he hiked with the Mountain Manics. This is on a webpage so I will forward it to you, Love to you both, Phyllis
